Trenton Man, 20, Shot Dead: Prosecutor

A 20-year-old Trenton man died after being shot multiple times, authorities said.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating the shooting that occurred early Friday, June 9in the city, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.

Markell Biggs was killed in the shooting, he said. 

At 12:03 a.m., Trenton police responded to Aspen Alley and Evans Avenue in response to a Shot Spotter activation. 

Police found Biggs suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, Onofri said.

He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. Biggs was pronounced dead at the hospital, the prosecutor said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
